Using Professional Manicure Supplies
Michalis 'BIG Mike' Kotzakolios

A professional nail care provider is often surrounded by mounds of manicure supplies, and you may not have the same range of supplies at home. For the professional, these manicure products are vital to providing high-quality nail care. This article will introduce some of them to you.

The manicure supplies we're all familiar with include nail clippers, cuticle pusher, nail file or emery board, a small set of nail scissors, and maybe a finger brush. And these are just some of the things that you can expect to find in a basic nail care kit. Manicure supplies, however, include a gamut of other things that not only provide basic nail care, but also make your nails, fingers, and entire hand appear youthful and beautiful.

Paraffin or wax is used to gently warm the hand and soften the skin on it to a relaxed and workable condition. Relaxed skin is not only easier to manipulate, it also absorbs lotion better. Paraffin or wax covers the hand in a thick coat so as to hold the heat longer; when removed, the hand is wrapped in plastic or foil followed with a cloth wrap to hold the heat generated by the wax.

Massage lotion is used to massage the cuticle or fingernail to increase blood circulation and nail polish may be used to strengthen weak nails as well as to color them. Nail polish as doesn't need to be a high-gloss, dense color. In fact, many people opt for a single coat or layer that allows the natural look of the nail to peek through. Some polishes are colorless. In the case of high-gloss dense coloring, polish is applied in several layers with each layer allowed to dry before applying a second coat.

Aside from paraffin, wax, and nail polish, manicure supplies also include various sanitizers. All the tools and equipment that a nail care provider uses must be sanitized so that nail disease is not transferred one customer to another. The sanitizers might be a simple liquid that's sprayed on tools, or may be a series of chemically treated cloths that can wipe off tools or areas that are repeatedly used.
